About the exhibition
My poster was chosen as one of the few open-call submissions to be exhibited at Poster Mostra, an annual public art exhibition on the streets of Marvila, Lisbon run by Departamento.
Being selected put my work alongside invited artists in a free, open-air gallery, unfortunately this was during covid so I missed the opportunity to see it irl but my very cute family sent me pictures ✨.

The Concept
The contest happened during lockdown so I was feeling pretty isolated and spending big portions of my day scrolling online but not feeling particularly fulfilled - actually quite the opposite, I was really bored and lacked mental stimulation. This is where the concept originally came from.
The black background isn't decorative, it's really the whole point of the design. I wanted to mimic a black mobile screen to represent the void you're staring at when you post or consume content. The poster is addressing the irrelevance of online performance and the emptiness of endlessly scrolling and sharing.
